I did that before I posted this thread, didn't help. Maybe it is because I just started, and there was nothing to clear. I can, however,log in sometimes but I am unable to create a farmer name.

I have no solutions. I stopped playing this game on my Kindle because of the lack of zooming far out. Hope u receive an answer that solves your problems.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

Also go to your settings and turn your wifi off then back on to see if this helps.
