Missing Crops & Trees

I am at Level 20 and I only have 3 fruit crops, vegetable crops, grain crops, fruit trees, etc. I have very few gifts. this isn't right, is it? When I water a farm at a lesser level, it seems they have more of a diversity of everything. How do I get more and different items?
