Disappearing food off counters restaurant story

I have spent a lot of coins and gems in building my food on the counters , they all disappeared ..why did this happen? I was going to open the restaurant to customers when I had enough food to present. This really sucks. It has put me back to almost the beginning , can you fix this and how do I get my food back..
