The trees and crops have been removed from the store, but the trees you have always bought that are out and in your inventory, you will still have, so you can keep mastering them.

How do you know they can still be mastered? GM didn't say that. He said to master them right away, and only gave minutes to master them.

The caramel apple trees aren't in the trees section with the mastery bar. So you can't see how far along you are. Mine will be ready in 11 hrs so I can see if I get feathers for them, although that doesn't necessarily mean that they are being applied toward mastery (chef hats in RS/BS had incorrect displays)

Note that they gave less than 2 months to master the candy corn and caramel apple trees. in order to have mastered caramel apple trees by now you would have had to buy at least 28 at a cost of 840000 coins, and picked them immediately after they were ready. You would have gotten 2 gems, but lost 750000 coins.
